Summer Recap
BWGL Families –
What a summer it’s been! Now that the club lacrosse season is winding down, I wanted to send out a little update on what’s been going on in the BWGL world.
First, thank you to all players and parents who participated in my first BWGL Summer Camp this year! We had a great three days at Chinook, learning the FUNdamentals we preach in this program and adequately torturing most of our counselors. We had the best volunteer counselor squad join us from the high school program – big thank you to Macy Elwell, Lexi Thaut, Lauren Park, Sara Kaefer, Savannah Anderson, Janie Moss, Natalie Birkeland, Marley Downs, Riley Lipon & Charlotte Lewison for taking time out of their busy summers to work hands on with our youth players. We also couldn’t have done it without Grace Reid and her incredible presence with our K-4 group.
Our 3 rules at camp this year were: smile, have fun, and conquer a fear. I can confidently say that our campers upheld these rules, came out of their shells, and everyone tried something new or made a new friend. Check out our Instagram for a little recap video of all the silliness!
In addition to camp, lots of our BWGL laxers have been working hard on the field with their club teams and even getting invited to special event teams. Congratulations to Lexi Thaut on representing Bellevue and Washington state as she led Team WA to a 3-1 finish at the USA Lacrosse National Tournament in Raleigh, NC earlier this summer. We also want to give a special shoutout to Camille Grieve, who just traveled to MD to represent the West at the CSE All-America games.
If you are looking to stay involved in lacrosse this fall, the following clubs have released their tryout dates:
